HELP!! Which ECU is best?

Postby Mattmah » Thu Jun 13, 2019 10:37 am

Hi all, as per my first post and as you could probably guess from the subject line, I am a total newbie to ECU tuning and have absolutely no idea about it. Which is of course why I am here.

My car is a Lotus Exige V6, which has a 3.5l supercharged V6 Toyota 2GR-FE engine. Currently running a carbon air intake and remap of OEM ECU done by Komotec (main Lotus tuner). I am about to fit a new exhaust system (manifolds, larger downpipe, sports cat, race silencer) and I am also looking to fit a larger supercharger with intercooler at some point in the future.

This means that I need a new ECU in order to be able to get a bespoke map for my choice of engine hardwear., however there does not seem to be a whole lot of choice for Lotus. So far the options I have found (other than the mega expensive Motec) are:

1. ECU Master EMU Black supplied by RRR (as now used by H111 too)

2. SCS Delta 800 supplied by ES Motorsport

3. Syvecs S7 aka H Pro ECU supplied by TDI South in conjunction with Elise Racing

https://www.eliseracing.com/about1

https://www.tdi-plc.com/product/syvecs-s7-plus-ecu/

All seem to be potentially viable options for roughly the same ballpark pricing. What should I be looking for in order to make a good decisions?

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever how to differentiate between the options above. Any clues?!

Thanks in advance
