Hello from the Alps

I have a 2007 VW T5 BRS (the last one without DPF) that has clocked just around 310k kilometers. So far 90k kilometers added by me since I bought it second hand. In his previous life it was (ab)used by metal and window shops and it's now with me for over 4 years. Mostly long-distance drives to visit friends and family.

So far head gasket had to come new and then my local garage fumbled with the PD injectors so these had to come new as well. Drove like new when I got it back from the garage, but started to run uneven after a few thousand kilometers. Especially in low revs it felt like the cylinders would work against each other. I thought that would be the injectors having dirt on them again.
But since I always wanted to try getting rid of the EGR myself (block and delete) I did so last week (MPPS v21 and EDCMasterHP). Since then the engine is working like new again. No more stuttering at low revs. Darn EGR!

Now I'm looking into doing a little remapping myself and therefore I am seeing forward to reading up a little further on this board.
