I made the big mistake of retiring my SAAB and replacing with a Volvo S60. The SAAB 93 never required any electrical work, the Volvo required a new tool just to stop the heater fan from turning on 30 mins after I had parked the car. So then I go and buy a non running Citroen C5 Hdi thinking CAM belt and a few rockers and away I will go. No such luck. Here I am 30 years after finishing my mechanic's apprenticeship, 20 years since I turned a tool for a living and just to work on my hobbie I need to understand a whole new concept of ECU, BSI, K something and CAN something else.
Now my wife has stopped complaining about grease in the laundry sink but has started suspecting I am chatting up the ladies on forums because I spend more time on the computer than I do with hands on the car.
Thanks to a lot of people much smarter than I am, there is hope that I will resurrect the Citroen and be able to continue to enjoy my hobby.
