golf 5 1.9 tdi EDC16U34

Postby kevin1996 » Thu Sep 21, 2023 4:56 pm

Hi,

I bough an used ECU and when I read maps from it, I found out is was already tuned. I'm wondering if you can check the map for me if it's all right to use. From my knowledge I don't think it is good, but I can be wrong.

In attachment 2 files:
- "golf5_srebrn_dataonly" is from my ecu on car and its is stock
- "used_ecu" is used with stage 1
Both ecu have same SW/HW numbers

Thank you for help.

Not good!
% tuning without calculations. DOI and Nm to IQ are decalibrated. And so on.

I've seen much worse, it's got some good points considering it's a % tune (33ps gain)
Maybe use it and take lots of logs

hi all

i have some questions about this tune:

-DW ok, but ecu use only 0,1,2 DW maps via DW selector. So no need to mod others? correct me if i'm wrong.
- IQ to Nm Conversion, Why did you make the changes here? factory calibrated to 336nm, I see no reason to change here
-Injection Duration, again factory calibrated to 60mg, why you made mod here in all duration maps?
-Turbo Boost, in x axis mg goes only to 45mg, if we ask for more then 45mg in other maps the turbo will limit to 45mg or no?
e.g in this map IQ to nm request 48,4mg in 2750rpm. if I think correctly turbo boost map need to be calibrated to the least 50mg?

Can someone other check this map.
i'm also new to tuning world, but i think in this map he made unnecessary changes.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin1996, let me explain.

DW - I always modify all the maps to avoid problems, it happened to me more times of thinking that the car was not using those maps, and if it was really using them.
IQ to NM - I made some small changes to make it do the mg I want with that torque request, it doesn't matter if it's calibrated to 336nm, you can always adjust the columns a bit.
Duration - a small modification is made to those maps to help inject a little more, whether they come up to 60mg, you can adjust the stock values a bit.
Boost - you don't need to extrapolate to 50mg when the car will do 48mg or so, the map will not limit you.

These are changes I tried many times, I did several 1.9 tdi like that and they all gave good results.

I hope I have explained well jejej.

Regards
