Postby Ben » Sat Feb 22, 2014 7:21 pm

Hello guys,

im new here and starting to learn about the programs like ecusafe, winols, volta etc...
my question is, how to turn off Fap on Siemens sid? Which program is best for this.
Also i have red many times about a "combinated solution", what does that mean exactly?
I'm also not sure how to regonize fap in the map... :/ :?:

Thanks guys,

also when researching about Siemens, i found out that it turns on regeneration after turning off fap, why is that so, and how to fix this for not showing the regeneration? :eh:

I can answer one of your questions - my understanding is that none of the 'freely' available softwares modifies SID803A maps to correctly disable all the components of 'FAP off'. It seems that manual intervention is required and noone is willing to share that knowledge for free :)

Your map is not good at all. Also after all software remove of FAP, you should also do a hardware remove of FAP computer- you should disconnected that crap.It is located under the steering whell above the pedals. It is a kind of box with signature MARELLI on.After all software work is done- you should disconnect that crap and everything will be okay.By this computer are comanding functions like- pre-heat mirrors in case of FAP regen, FAP regenerations, the two ''buterflyes'' in the intake manifold (the short and the long circuit of air taken by the car) and so many.

Hello,

some time ago I removed the DPF from my volvo 2.0D with sid803. Found the relevant addresses from forums and so on, all good and working. Some things left me wondering though:

Where is the checksum located in the file? Flashing tool corrected the checksum and changes appears to be about in the halfway in the file when I compared, is that the checksum?

How are these files identified to each car? I suppose you can not just throw them from car to another? How about switching the ECU from car to another what will happen, immobilizer?

Oh and are all the (relevant) maps and things located in the mpc555? If so, what function does the flash memory have?
