"Hi everyone,
I am a young guy eager to learn the art of tuning properly. I want to start with the basics to understand the logic before trying anything extreme.
I am practicing on a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI ASZ (EDC15). Since the engine has 300,000 km, my goal is a 'Safe Optimization' rather than a max power tune. I am mainly looking for better extension for highway overtaking, without stressing the old components (clutch/turbo).
Here is the logic I applied:
Torque Limiter: I kept it stock at 1900rpm to save the flywheel. I increased it gradually to 52.5mg at 4000rpm to prevent the power drop during overtaking.
Smoke Map: I calibrated the AFR to approx 16.2 at high load to ensure clean combustion (no black smoke).
Boost: I increased the target slightly to 2420mbar (+0.07 bar) to burn the extra fuel safely and keep EGTs under control.
Limiters: Adjusted SVBL to 2620mbar and Boost Limit Map to 2550mbar.
N75: Left stock as the increase is small.
I have attached the screenshots of my work.
Could you please give me some feedback? Is this logic safe for a high-mileage engine?
Thanks for helping a beginner!"
