I received my hardware last week, a SMPS MPPS V13 EDC16 Metal Box Chip Tuning Remap Chiptuning CAN Flasher :lol:

Beside of installing MPPS and setting up my laptop+installing drives, i havent used the item yet.

Is there a risk in reading the ECU memory ? For sure, a broken flash run can kill your ECU, but is there any risk in reading ?

I would lilke to look at my cars ECU memory and try to find and understand the map/fields.


Oh my car is a VW Golf MK5 - 170 HP TDI

probably best to put ecu in bootmode. this way the immo has no chance to block the access to the ecu file.

havent used mpps before so i cant comment on how that software/cable works. ive used galletto and "ebay vag com cable" because my genuine ross tech cable isnt detected by galletto :-/
