Fiat Punto 1.9jtd 8v

Postby wewerica » Fri Jun 23, 2023 1:59 pm

Hello,
I got my car tuned but some ppl in Serbia.
During tuning and after we're getting check engine all the time.
P0236 - Overboost valve

Turbo: GTB2260 - tested
Injectors: 019 stock from 1.9jtd 8v, with bigger nozzles from alfa 147 140hp
R65 fuel pump

I'm not the one that made this map and know a little about diesel tuning. :(

We tested turbo 2 days ago, insted of 140kg/hr turbo flow rate was 70kg/hr. Turbo service fixed it and after that we can't get it to work above 1300mbar (atmospheric pressure).

P0236 probably is issues with map or bad turbo geometry adjust.
About injectors mod... well are you sure new nozzles have same spray angle patern as your original? 16/20v injector pattern is different to 8v, it can cause issues with time.
You should do log with fiatecuscan so check boost/n75/maf.

I did put new bosch 4 bar map sensor (0281006102), turbo is tested and its working fine now.

Injectors have same pattern as they should thats not the issue.

Main issue is that turbo isn't being controlled properly, it gets shut down at 0.3 bar.

Here's log that I made yesterday

New turbo I suppose it's VNT vacuum. Have your ecu ready for VNT control? Usually Puntos are edc15c5 or c7 fixed turbo, VNT not ready.

This punto had some sort of electronic turbo control. Two wires connected to some vacuum thingy same as the one used for turn off the car (that is near fuel pump)
We used those two wires to connect to this overboost valve

if my ecu doesn't support VNT can I get some other ecu i.e. from stilo 115hp and install in punto?

Your ecu is edc15c7.
First you can try to enable vnt system in your ecu version and analyze vnt ecu pinouts with pwm analizer, if it works ok. If not may be your ecu has not vnt pinout, you could use other similar edc15c7 with vnt enabled and use your maps and eeprom.

To be honest I don't know how to do any of that, I'm just desperate owner with car that is not running and looking for solution.
