FGTech V54 OBD k-Line not working EDC16c39

Postby kentm99 » Fri Feb 17, 2023 3:56 am

Hi all,
So I am trying to write binary for my EDC16c39 (alfa 159)
I have tried MPPS but it will only read. ( which I used and got the file modified)
So I got a FGtech V54 to try and write the file.
I have the ECU out on the bench with power ground and K-line connected.
I checked the green wire goes back to the same pin , PIN7 of the OBD connecter does on the FGTech just to be sure.
It won't communicate at all. DO I need a resistor or something?
What could be wrong here?
Failing that , how would I go about connecting up BDM if I can't get OBD to connect.
This process has been goin on for near 6 months now, so I would really like to get this done and get this car on the road.
Oh BTW I'm using windows 11, it seems to run OK once you run in compatibility mode.

Many Thanks,
Kent

MPPS OBD should do easy, may be Windows 11 or PC issues.
Ktag BDM is the safest way.
Kess OBD should do too.
Cheapest and unsafe K-KL USB FTDI + old Galletto.
