Errors after programming and No speedometer

Postby maru487 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 4:58 am

I apologize in advance if I'm not explaining very well. My background is electronics engineering but this is my first kick at ECU reprogramming.

Equip: VXDiag VCXNano 2in1 Ford/Mazda
Software: Mazda IDS 95.02 running on VMware Windows XP
Vehicle: Mazda 2005

So I am hoping someone might have some guesses or answers to the problems I'm having with programming my car. All I wanted to do was update to the latest calibration file, but it's now messed things up somewhat.

First time:
Hooked up the VXDiag and read the vehicle.
Went to the reprogramming menu and selected PCM.
The IDS suggested the latest update and downloaded the firmware (calibration file)
It starts the programming process, "erasing memory", then the "programming" box pops up for a split second and disappears at which point it says to turn the key to the off position.
I then get the error code: 0-0x0 851082 and the IDS can no longer communicate with the ECU
After a few attempts I give up for the day, disconnect the battery in hopes of resetting something overnight.

Second Attempt
Same deal as the day before, but this time it programs the ECU!
With my false sense of accomplishment, after the programming is done, I get error code: 0-0x22 851082
The car starts and everything seems ok, except now I get DTC of P0602 programming error and the speedometer doesn't work.
I've tried reprogramming several times, all with the same results. P0602 that won't go away and no speedo.

And this latest attempt did the same thing as the first attempt. ACK..

Because of Motorcraft's tight rein on everything, getting any error details or assistance is near to impossible, so any help or information would be more then helpful.

Cheers
