EGR OFF ME7.5 Attempt

Postby rlees85 » Thu Apr 18, 2013 7:50 pm

Hi All

Anyone here good with the ME7.5?

I am trying to do a de-EGR for a friend who has a 1.4 Golf ME7.5 ECU.

I have made an attempt at this based on a DAMOS that is similar but for an Audi 1.8T (the addresses are slightly out, had to apply some common sense).

Attached is the original file and ATTEMPTED DE-EGR. Can someone who is familiar with this ECU please advice if or not I have done it correctly?

I beleive the values I changed, in the damos, are:
Code: Select all
Codewort DAGR abschalten (EURO-Codierung), CD..=0 -> keine Diagnose (CDAGR)   Codeword DAGR off (EURO-coding), CD .. = 0 -> no diagnosis (CDAGR)

Codewort Diagnose Lagesensor abschalten (EURO-Codierung), CD..=0 -> keine Diag. (CDAGRL)   Diagnosis code word position sensor off (EURO-coding), CD .. = 0 -> no diag. (CDAGRL)

Which I think is EGR OFF and EGR (something else related) OFF.

Please confirm.

Thanks very much :)

To be honest im 99.9% sure this is right after doing some more googling. Just want someone more experienced to let me know their opinion? Has anyone on these forums had any experience changing ME7.5 settings?

In eeprom? Didnt know EGR can be turned off that way. Would be easier to just turn it off in the BIN of possible, saves disassembling the ECU ;)

I been thinking about this again and decided to give it a miss. If it was my car I would just try it, but as its a friends I think I better not. If in the future anyone does try to disable the EGR on an ME7.5 using these methods or otherwise I would be interested to hear from you. :)

Can you post the difference between the original and changed firmware?

Hi

Finally had the courage to flash this file.

Process:

At time of writing, no engine light, no pending errors, car drives great. If anything changes I will post back.
