EGR Helps on Warming up the car?

Postby juice » Tue Oct 28, 2014 8:07 am

My question is already in the subject...EGR affects the warming time of the car?
I have EGR cooler also and i hade some tests these days on a fixed distance, with and without EGR.
I started from 20 degrees coolant temp, run that distance..the temperature was exactly the same up to 60, after that fixed distance in same conditions.
My curiozity now is if in cold season will be the same..anyway i intend to make again those tests but i wanted to know if that warm air can help a car to warm faster.

Have also made this test ,in winter, difference is very small, almost invisible, tested on-10deg.C, same conditions, max. 1 minute delay until the heat comes betwen tests. Not a big deal, EGR remove has a lot of benefits.

Great. Thanks. I had until now dynamic EGR, activated until ~70 75 degrees because i thought that can help to warm up the engine but doing those tests i`m sure that i`ll totally remove it forever. Somebody told me that in winter is a big difference, that's why i was curious about this.

Buna treaba atunci :) Cred ca la cele fara egr cooler face o diferenta(zic unii), la astea cu egr cooler, gazele fac exchange de temperatura cu coolantu si cred ca e la fel incalzirea.
