EDC17CP20 Tprot off via Kess after Ktag read?

Postby Zamperl » Fri Feb 09, 2024 8:38 pm

Hello,
I open an ECU EDC17CP20 of T5:
1.Read it by Ktag in boot mode
2.Close ECU and insert back to car
3.Ask/Try Tprot off
4.Write ECU via OBD with Kess
5.ECU is read-/writeable via OBD with Kess
Could please somebody tell me if my way is true or wrong (if any why)?

Cheers

Hello everybody,
I need help for how to write TprotOff file with Kess clone via OBD to tuned EDC17CP20. (Kess is verified working on some other cars)

What I've done:

Opened EDC17CP20 and read it with Ktag (Full Backup VAG Tprot P427)
Wrote Stage1, EgrOff and TprotOff file from a reliable tuner with Ktag

Two times taking out and in the ECU was difficult and took more than 3 hours for each step.

Since step 2. the engine runs bad in idle (800-1500 rev/min): https://files.fm/u/m9bh5f6er8
We would like to test only TprotOff file but unfortunately Kess clone can't write it via OBD even the tuned ECU has already TprotOff.

Attached is the ori and TprotOff file. Could anybody please help me how to modify (Checksum?) the file to write it via Kess to OBD?

best regards
