EDC15P and flash stop at 30%

Postby Homiczek » Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:02 pm

Hello

I didnt do it but i'd like to know :)

What will happend when something (low battery etc) stop flashing operation ?

EDC15P need to be physicaly repaired (BDM or other flasher) or only need to flash again by MPPS ?

did ecu have other boot software, and I can start flash again ?

I nearly started to learn edit ecu and i have now only MPPS interface ;)

....than do you have a big Problem  Your ECU is then a brick.
You must resolder the Flash (29F400) and reprogramming with a external Programmer (Willems e.g.)

if its locked, you can try to recover it with your mpps tool in bootmode

It is always best thing to desolder flash and reprogram it.
Sometimes the voltage can fall down under 12v and flashing get stop. ;)

Good bench power supply, resistor and genuine mpps recovers edc15p always when ecu is not physically damaged :)

Also Magpro is pretty capable reviving this ecu via OBD .

My magpro failed during write on one this week, hardware problem (genuine tool) so it's in need of repair.

Didn't think to attempt a recovery write, wonder how it would have went though - in that instance I cut straight to chase and recovered with mpps in boot mode.

I can't really think of any situation where you can't recover an edc15p solderlessly with the MPPS unless there's physical damage. If I'm wrong feel free to state an example of such a situation, but I can't recommend the mpps highly enough for these ecu's.

Magpro is a decent tool mind, it's one of those 'if it starts it'll finish' tool except if you're me and have the bad luck of having a magpro with what i suspect is a bad solder joint!

Before it started playing up it was spot on though.

Hi MPPS writes all the time programmed so that when writing drop-eror-again start from the beginning to write very often write ok.Sometimes start spinning propeller on the radiator, but after 15 minutes and off-on everything ok.
