Can you recommend me a EEPROM programmer for the 24C02 chip? Does it exist a clip on, or do i have to de-solder?

The egr valve is controlled by the ECU with a vacuum actuator. Was planning on controlling it manually with a datalogger/controller/PLC.

Any programmer can program the 24C02 chip. The best way to do it is to desolder it.

For the EGR - put a blanking plate on it, remove it in the software and trow away any controllers.

Sorry about that! I had problems with uploading files.
Maybe it works now?

I think it is cool that i actually can see the chassis-number from the car in the IMMO data.

Anyway, have someone looked at the ecu flash?

Thanks, but unfortunately i did not get the engine to start. Should I be able to start it with the key, or should it just start if i crank the starter?
It did not react to the key. I cranked the starter, but the engine did not ignite.

if the engine had a manual transmission attached it will start only if the ecu gets a clutch depressed/brake depressed indication(in many cases with bosch ECU) and in case of A/T the "P" indication from the tranny. may be thats y they told it wont start w/o transmission. Please check those mate, mercs are not sooo easy i know but points worth checking
