Evening all,
Got a right issue that I cannot get my head around.
As title says, car will not read using OBD socket and Lexia/Diagbox but reads fine with ELM327 adapter and phone app.
Have checked continuity on relevant pins and all fine. Even tried reading at ECU using Bosch Uni-4 cable and no joy. A couple of years ago it read fine with Bosch KTS590 and Uni-4. At some point, it read fine with Lexia too but that might have died internally.
Could the chip have got corrupted? If so, any ideas how?
This same Lexia used to work. It lights up green when plugged into laptop. Drivers are installed and working. Laptop acknowledge VCI is plugged in. Lexia must be powered by OBD port I am guessing. The green LED just confirms there is a data connection. Again I am guessing on this.
Totally at a loss where to go next with this.
Some ideas to bounce off would be great.
I read one post on this forum that suggested maybe the EEPROM chip is corrupted and said reflash. I think the same post says that is hard to brick these ECU's? For the avoidance of doubt, I have not tried any programming/reading/writing YET...
What are the best tools for this ECU? I have access to Kess / Alientech / K-tag / MPPS. Any ideas on which device will give a guaranteed read. Would prefer on car solution rather than bench at this point.
I have a couple of spare ECU's if bench is the only way though I believe one might be from RHY engine (90 bhp). Not sure if it is exact same hardware or how to check this if Lexia will not read. I am familiar with Lexia but less familiar with other diag tools.
Thanks in advance.
