EDC15c2 2.0 HDI 90 - VNT conversion

Postby Cortnzs1 » Tue Dec 10, 2024 4:35 pm

I everyone,

I successfully converted my 2.0 hdi 90 to vnt with a merc gt18v turbo. The boost control works great with stock EDC15c2 ECU.
This topic aims to give some hints for who's trying to do this kind of project.

First : enable boost control routine, located right next to the egr switch and switch the turbo type

at this point the boost control routine is activated but the actuator valve is not working because the output is not configured.

Codeword turbo valve configuration :
The codeword is written in 16 bit binary mode, and is a bit tricky to find.
To find it, you can display it in 16 bit decimal and find the sequence 00786 00134.
786 is the codeword for EGR valve and 134 for the inactive turbo valve.
To configure it properly search for ehwEST_LDR in the funktionsbeschreibung of bosch edc15c2

And now if you have configured the switches and codeword correctly your boost control will be operational.

Every map needed to tune properly the turbo control, are easy to find with the EDC15C2 damos, from 807 or C8 2.0 hdi 110 if I remember well which is easy to find too ;)

For the hardware setup there's nothing too complicated, just observe how a 2.0 hdi 110 works and wire the turbo valve and the map sensor to the ecu as the 110 hp version is.

Good luck ;)
