EDC15: Engine Fan Activation Temperature

This is a really long shot, does anyone know where the temperatures are stored for the engine fan activation?

On a Peugeot, I am guessing there are two temperatures stored, one for low-speed fan and one for high-speed. I cannot find them anywhere. I tried searching for the kick-in temperatures (with the correct offset applied) but couldn't find any matches in the BIN.

I just want my low speed fan to kick in a bit earlier, its kicking in at 98C at the moment which is a tad late IMO.

Car: Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI 90
ECU: Bosch EDC15C2

On a side note, the car isn't faulty and only reaches this temperature when idling for a very long time on a very hot day (30C).

I know this is a long shot but still...

Right... some guy from ecuconnections (bobolin4o) has found something interesting in my BIN, so 100% credits to him for the below. A map looking like the picture attached as been found (not sure the location, I need to find it myself yet).

I am suspecting this correlates to the engine cooling stage at certain temperatures.

I suspect the following:

0 = no additional cooling required/no action from ECU
10000 = cooling stage 1 - no idea, any ideas anyone what this is?
20000 = cooling stage 2 - low speed radiator fan
30000 = cooling stage 3 - high speed radiator fan

My low speed fan does indeed kick in around 95c and 102c for high speed fan also seems 'about right' but I never tested it (low speed fan cools it down so........ can't really test it).

Thoughts? Any idea what is cooling stage 1 or am I barking well up the wrong tree here?

Update:

Now I'm really confused :crazy:

See pic.

My thermostat opens (cooling stage 1?) at about 85C (MAX! def. not 88!).
My low speed fan kicks in at about 95C (MIN! def not 90).

So I guess one of these maps would control it. My guess is the control for my car is at 66BD8 (and 76BD8), as the thermostat isnt ECU controlled anyway and the value is probably ignored and my fan def kicks in between 95/98C!

Again.. thoughts are welcome. I will experiment with the car too but would rather some feedback first.

I think that cooling 2 map is a time for begining of fan activation, and cooling 1 map is time to stop activation of fan.
So, if you want to start earlier activation of the fan change X axis to "90" on the map2 and change X axis to "85" on the map 1.
Iam not cure if can work, but you can try.
