ECU Re-program after bad write/flash???

Postby laytonanthony » Sun Mar 13, 2016 12:22 am

Hi guys
Just started up re-mapping cars as im very techincial minded.
To date ive mapped well over 100 cars with success using both my Kess master and Ktag master.
Even done an EDC17C59 the other day which was tricky but enjoyable at the sam etime :)
To date i have never bricked an ECU and really dont intend too (touch wood).
Basically if i was ever to Brick a customers ECU i wan to be able to repair it there and then at my workshop and offer the best profesional service as possible. Anyone can map a car but its knowing what to do when it goes wrong!

Is their any guides to show you what chips need removing for individual ECU's ect.

Any help would be greatley appreciated.

Kind regards
Anthony

From What i can understand (correct me if im wrong)

Dependent on the ECU make/model the map file is either stored on the EEPROM, Flash, or MICRO?

Is it just a case of removing the corresponding chip for that particular ECU and re-programming it?

When re-programming it do i use the madded file or the origional read?

Kind regards
Anthony
