DPF removal from Freelander 2

Postby atlas » Wed Oct 24, 2012 11:27 am

Hi everybody,

I'm a beginner in this domain but I have some experience with electronics and embedded programming. I want to remove the DPF from my 2007 Freelander 2, 2.2TDI, 112Kw . I'm not sure about the ECU, but reading on the net it seems it's a EDC16CP39.

What tools do I need for reading and writing the ECU binary ? It's possible to make these operations on OBD port ?

Thanks.

to read from andwriting eobd, and you can use the official programmers MAGPro2 kess v1 clone or clones that then are almost equal, but remember that your car is not 'easy to remove the dpf I have tried both with and ecusafe2 swiftec but neither has resolved the problem.

In the beginning it's important to read the binary.

Lets assume that the ECU is read protected. In that case, if i'll try to read it via OBD port, is there a risk to lock the ECU ?

Thanks.

reading it does not block the ECU with what you read?

Finally I had paid someone locally for this job. DPF is physically removed and replaced with a pipe. Also the temperature sensor was removed from the old DPF and attached to the new pipe. Problem is that I still have issues with the limp mode. At least the guy told me that if he will not make it work, will return the money.

The good part it that now I have a complete ECU backup. The guy used an original BDM100 to read the ECU via BDM. Also it seems that reading and writing via the OBD with FlashBooster it's working pretty well.

Thanks everybody for your advices !

In this attacment is everything I have:
fl2_backup.zip
