DPF off, Passat 2.0 TDi 170psi DSG

Hi,
I have a question if you can turn off the DPF in the Passat 2.0 TDi 170hp with DSG? I have heard that this is problematic, because just on the gearbox.

The car is a friend, and come check and let you know. General referred to the question whether the DSG gearbox does something to disable the DPF and whether it will work properly.
