My first post here, so hello!

DELPHI Common Rail DCM3.2 DEAD that doesnt communicate after it has been opend and tuned, no visable damage from opening or soldering. Car doesnt crank at all.

What is the common cause when ECU´s just refuse to work? cracked solder due to opening? or is it possible the software can be the fault?

Mercedes claimed a used one couldnt be bought and coded so i ended up paying customer 2000 Euro for a new :(

I had this problem with 2 Audi A4 2.0 TDI´s EDC17XXX in the past...they did crank though but no start.

And finaly how sensitive is todays ECU´s regarding static shocks?

Did you check the immo?

Could you get any diagnostic communication to work?

No connection with ECU through diag.
Could be a powerdrop as well..but i couldnt do back up files, using New Genius and Trasdata from DImsport.

My master claims its a hardware failure..it happend total 4 times on 200 tunes.

the simplest (but not the least expencive) way is to buy another (used) ECU with the same HW number, and to get a dump with the same SW number, to do the immo off, and give it a shot... :?

I don't see why the used ECU couldn't be coded to fit another car. Mercedes (official repair shop, I guess?) can't do many things we do. By "we", I mean the ecuedit.com community.

Even I have been working in ECU's some official service/repair shops claimed it is impossible, and I proved them wrong. :mrgreen:

I did a "BDM" read of all memories, and i can read & write them all but i feel like the ECU lost its "identity" with the car..either by getting broken due to opening or something by the flash, but since backup doesnt work..i guess hardware failure.

I guess that the reading was made with some errors. I think the hardware is ok - at least if you took care of the ECU properly and handled it with care...??

The VOLTA doesn't include support for any Delphy ECU except for FAP remove in PSA DCM3.4, so I believe you'll have to find another software for this car and to find for a pro that can do the immo off on this ECU... :?

I expect Renault to sell toycars with Delphi ecus, but Mercedes costs a little to much to have this garbage for engine management.

I have a flooded ecu which i managed to read with galletto , but with a stroke of luck. Because there is no exact science with those shitty motor brains. Another disgrace are the jumpers configuration in the manuals, different for every tool....

Tu summarize how i did it.... :

I did the jumper described in fgtech manual and soldered the adapter upside-down , because is mirrored.

1. connect power supply to galletto case
2. give power to ecu
3. give power to galletto BDM cable
4. hit connect
