Im sorry for the broad question, but maybe someone with wider knowledge can cut some from the beginning of my learning curve.
I have an Alfa Romeo 156 JTS 2.0 (a gdi engine if that matters), which i would like to play around with.
I have been looking for which hardware and software to use for remapping the ecu on this car, but as you all propably know, the amount of stuff out there is vast.
So first question would be, what kind of hardware and software and software is needed for the task. I see all kinds of things and the prices seem to vary from 15eur to 5000eur. What would be the minimum viable option for remapping?
Any good resources for learning about these things?

Another question is, im looking to fit a water/meth injection system, if there is any resources or articles about how a system like this could effect the tuning parameters of a car.
