hey friends i have some doubts please clarify. for example take bmw f10 edc17
is it possible to calculate checksum manually by ourselves??? or the remap file we gonna replace will already have the checksum??
if we cant break the encryption desoldering the rom and read the data in it???
I'm totally new to this ecu remapping stuff :)

Depends on what software you are using to write the remap file.

I wouldn't attempt this yourself, if you are asking questions like this though..

How much experience do you have with remaps?

Usually either the tuning software (like winOLS) or the flasher software (like MPPS) takes care of the checksum.
For winOLS there are downloadable dll files to get more checksum functionality, I would guess there is one for the EDC17 for example.

I wouldnt want to risk calculating a checksum myself. One little error and your ECU is bricked (this might be recovered but is a pain in the .ss)
