Hi guys,
I have just made a full backup of my bmw edc17c41 ecu using kess v2 in boot mode with tricore module. Tool -> backup read. (After following the "obd unlock data" guide. Tool -> OBD Data -> save file "id.txt")
I used protocol 216 which is an exact match apart from transmission type. Mine is Manual but protocol is for auto.
This was successful and made a full backup file, while still in boot mode i tried to do a normal read but I get "Checksum error".
I would like to remove Tprot and the obd lock.
Here is some info -
2010 BMW 320d 181bhp Manual transmission.
HW: 08506506
SW: 1037504977
Sw ver :
spare: 08511766

HW Ver: 0237026275
SW UPG: 00517729
Installation: P220 - BOSCH_EDC17C41_IROM_TC1797_BMW Mini
The ecu was mapped 2 years ago, they said they did not add any additional protection. It has stage 1, egr, dpf and launch control?
Did I do everything okay and I just need to remove TPROT then use that file with the "Backup_write" option? I dont know how to remove tprot.
My goal would be to have a full backup file without tprot and obd lock so I can read/write from obd in future.
Thank you in advance, hopefully I have explained okay. I am very new to this
