and that soi limiter by temp is the high limit, yes? How did you changed it? only last column?

Turbo deviation is max allowed deviation of turbo. You have for example 2250 max limiter boost, well if your pressure pass 2250 + 400(deviation) = 2650 , will go in limp mode = no more acceleration pedal.
You dont need to change turbo deviation, i see no reason to do that, i only detected maps and thats it.
SOI limiter..i can tell you i can keep them stock, i added more degrees to 16x16 main SOI map and SOI is changed in tests, well i`m not sure if those limiters are for manual version but they dont really limit anything.

Thanks. ok, i will not change turbo deviation, but i think i should change last column of soi limiter by temp, because my main soi map goes little higher then that limiter :)


p.s. i have bigger turbo and firad nozzles

With firad nozzles keep SOI stock, you can damage engine very easy with more SOI and bigger nozzles.
Bigger nozzles means more fuel in same injection window, dont touch SOI or SOI limiters, keep them stock, believe me it's a safety advice :)
How much they were? what price? I`m tempted to buy a pair of those nozzles too and a hybrid turbo to go with 1.6 boost.
A friend with same settings has 205 hp on dyno.

Someone said that SOI should be "stock" by real IQ, so i got advance map for example values from 45mg iq and copied it to 30mg column, but no big difference on economy or driving.

I have tried it because of economy, because now i have ~8l/100km urban and ~6,5l/100km cruising, cruising consumptions make me angry :evil:

I have firad +50% flow 330eur including shipping. And i have gt17 turbo boosting 1,75bar at max, but as i understand there is too much backpressure, because acceleration 0-100km/h is about 6,5s i think is should be better and 0-160km/h is about 17s that looks good.

Interesting setup you have.
Keep advance stock. With bigger nozzles you have to retard the SOI, because if you advance more, fueling will start too early and in the final will be overadvanced. Keep all soi stock.
Keep in mind that any rewrite of file on these fucking vp44 pump cars can take time for pump to adapt new file..well you cant really figure out instantly the economy or power..should pass 1-2 days.
The same shit happened with audi a6 2.5 tdi, same pump.
You should log the boost to be sure that you have stable boost..with bigger turbo..for sure you must rewrite a big part of n75 map

This is interesting information, but it sucks, because remapping takes long time....

I have modified PID control maps, so i have actual boost near boost request maps wot, but i have overshoot and then boost stable. Don't really know how to make correct N75 maps without millions of logs.

And have problem with slow turbo spool, now in 3rd gear im getting 1,7bar boost only at 2200rpm.

What is your theory for best power at WOT, and best economy when cruising?

I had a manual for GT17, it makes full boost only at 2000 rpm, well you can't do too much.
You can close n75 vanes more in lower area under 2000 rpm. I saw a pro tuner that made N75 fully closed from 1000 to 1600 rpm with GT20 turbo to have better spool.

Which are PID maps ? Doesnt it worth to modify them ? On my car i had same overboosts..but i lowered last 2 columns in N75 map with 10% (40 mg) and 20%(on 50mg). from initial values..not boost is a little bit under requested..i reuqest 2350 mbar and i have around 2280 - 2300 ..i preffer lower a little bit than big overshoot.

For economy and power, log boost with BMW TESTO, to see the charts, just by numbers you will never see overboost area.
With EGR off you can have too much boost in cruising, well lower N75 between 5 and 15 - 20 mg, depending by boost deviation.
With stock injectors i made my advance flat to 5 degrees (from -1 or 1 ,depends by area), and lowered values with 10 UNITS not percent , from 1500 to 2250 and 5 mg to 15 mg, i can cruise with 10 - 12 mg now and cars goes nice at 2000 rpm(5rd gear - 100 km/h).

I would like to change PID controls to control boost better but i`m not sure if is better than factory, or is it ?
