Best ECU hardware to start with

Postby Tanny » Thu Jun 02, 2016 7:23 pm

I have been looking on the posts and searching for recommendations on the best kit to start with.

I have looked at the AlienTech K-Tag and Kess-V2.

If I look on Alientech's website the costs are in the thousands but there are lots for sale on Ebay etc for a fraction of the cost.

I know they are a little dodgy since they all say do not use when connected to the Internet.

Other than that limitation is there anything else that I need to look out for. I am primarily interested in working with Mercedes Sprinters and Ford Transits.

Any guidance or links to posts that already discuss this would be appreciated.

Iain.

AlienTech K-Tag adn Kess v2 costs thousands are not recommended for beginners.
Clone will meet basic needs for DIYer

these are better quality Clones with afforable price
Kess v2 firmware
Ktag firmware v6.070
Fgtech Galletto BDM tricore OBD

Fgtech is good to start, both software installation and easy operation
