Beginner help

Postby Iby20010 » Sun May 11, 2025 9:42 pm

Hi Guys
I’m a complete beginner who wants to get started in the tuning game
I’ve looked into softwares and at the moment ECM titanium is looking the best to me. Does anybody have any recommendations for ECU tuner software at a low level. I aim to learn modifying files on cheap budget cars mainly VAG diesels. Any advices / tips will help massively TIA
Thanks

Thanks for the advice
Do you think it’d be useful for EDC17 stuff also?
Also how would I know if something is OBD or bench tune only
TIA

For EDC17 maybe winols would be best but its a lot more complicated. And for hardware ktag is probably better for EDC17 since you have to take the ecu out and connect to it in boot mode. Unless your ecu is made before 2009 you cant read from it over OBD. Im also no expert but you might also have to figure out how to disable tprot and immo. Again im no expert so someone can correct me if im wrong about something

VCDS is for VW and is a Diagnostic tool, it just has the ability to change settings on VW cars,
it's not a chiptuning tool.
