Audi EDC16U1 MPPS bench flash

Postby cristigrigor30 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 10:23 am

Hi,
Can you give me some advice how to bench flash with MPPS?
I have the connection diagram for EDC16U1, but i never tried this before.
I bricked the ecu after mpps read on car.
Now i want to try bench recovery without BDM.

THANKS

i put in doubt that your`e able to reprogram any of edc16 with MPPS, not that im pesimistic but just know it by autopsy, thanks to motorola processor you will easily recover flash content using bdm for example, i mean flash it again obviously -not repair. the eeprom content remains untouched even if you brick the ecu up, so take it easy andy carry on with bdm on the bench maybe. good luck.

There are two kind of ways to recover your ECu. First one is whit soldering and programing whit universal programmer, and the second one is to do it whit BDM.

Best regards.

I am going to read my edc16 ecu from a MB E280CDI, well when I get my MPPS V12 China Clone.

Is it really possible to brick this ecu when READING? Reading should not do any harm to the eeprom, or did I get something wrong?

It is actually possible, rare but possible. I've seen it happen unfortunately.

Reading shouldn't cause harm but bare in mind errors usually occur because of malformed messages, and malformed messages can ask the ecu to do anything ;)

MPPS should bench flash these okay, reading no problem for writing immo will have to be off.

ANGIELSKI

This is not immo. Mpps Chinese clon not read Flash content correctly. Programmed the checksum does not match and lock ECU. Sure candle light bulbs flashing.
