Audi A4 B6 1.8T Quattro (AVJ) Bought tune (Stage 1)

Postby Shovelhd » Fri Nov 07, 2025 11:04 am

Hi!

First off, I read the forum rules but I am not sure if this is OK or not, my apologies if this is considered not ok.

I have bought a Stage 1 tune from a reputable dealer for my 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (AVJ). This comes with their own OBD flash tool which is to be returned after use. Since I am contemplating future modifications, such as E85 conversion, injectors, turbo upgrade etc I would like to read this tune so I can modify it as I go.

Is this possible and how should I go about this? I read somewhere that trying to read the ECU with a copyprotected tune may mess it up? I have not flashed it yet, want to make sure I do it right the first time.

My intent is not do steal "their" software just to be able to build on it in the future.

Thanks in advance

PS. I have the OBD cable, Nefmoto and WINOls already

first of all start by making a full backup of your ecu, using a bench tool eg. KT200II or Flex or any tool that can make a full backup of your ME 7.5 ecu, after that anything that might happen along the way (ECU Bricked) you can revive it anytime without problem !
