Hello,
I am looking for legitimate assistance with a 2009 Aprilia Shiver 750. I am in a two-year technical program for motorcycle and boat engine repair, and I want to learn the correct process rather than use unknown files or make blind edits.
Vehicle / ECU information:
- Vehicle: 2009 Aprilia Shiver 750
- Engine: 749.9 cc Aprilia 90° V-twin
- ECU: Magneti Marelli IAW 5DM
- Hardware: IAW5DMHW430
- Current calibration ID: A00134A0 / 0134A0
- Alternate software ID: 5DMV0134
- Current read file size: 720,896 bytes
- Exhaust: aftermarket slip-on silencers
I have completed a successful ECU read, preserved the original/current readout, and will upload it here if permitted by the forum. I will not write anything until the file, checksum handling, and intended changes are reviewed.
The issue is noticeable low-RPM on/off behaviour, abrupt throttle response at small throttle openings, and what feels like a fuelling problem. Rain mode improves it somewhat, but not enough. I am not seeking a stage-1 tune, higher RPM limit, emissions-system delete, DTC delete, or more peak power.
My requirements are:
1. Diagnose whether the problem is calibration-related before changing fuel values.
2. If calibration changes are appropriate, improve low-speed fuelling and soften the initial ride-by-wire torque/throttle delivery.
3. Reduce the aggressive low-end torque feel while preserving safe, reliable operation.
4. Keep a fully recoverable original file and ensure any modified file has correct checksum treatment.
I would appreciate either:
- Help identifying whether a legitimate definition/map pack exists for this exact IAW5DMHW430 / A00134A0 calibration;
- Guidance from someone experienced with this Marelli 5DM platform on the relevant tables and required diagnostics; or
- Contact from an approved/badged provider who can supply a conservative, documented tuning service.
I am happy to provide additional ECU identification details, logs, and the file once the forum allows attachments. Thank you.
