anyone know how to identify the ecu type ?

hey brothers ,
im a new tuner for ecu .
i need some of your best information . i appreciate if you dont want to tell me about this .
i wanna ask ,how to identify ecu type , such as 'edc' things , siemens ecu type , and other .
i'll be thankful for telling me about this . because i know all of you are a great tuner !

Manufacturer is mostly printed on the ecu box, and also some product/model number. If ecu is hard to access mechanically, most car-specific diagnostic tools will tell the type or spare part number of the ecu. Then you can google the numbers or there are some databases/excel files/tables containing information of many ecus available. Many ecu types can be found just by googling the car make and engine type.

You can also ask russians tuners either. Not necessarily but desirable to understand russian. They're should answer to you with simple words. Best regards! 73!
