Alientech question

Tools used for ECU reading and writing

Alientech question

Postby mmaigret » Tue Mar 05, 2013 4:04 am

Hi,

I have an alientech flash tool (with xconsole software) that enables me to read and write to my ECU. However, the files I read and write are only 65k size, where other .ORI files I have seen posted are 512k. Is it possible the flash tool I have is only input/outputting a portion of the .ORI file? Also, will the tool I currently have be adequate for flashing/tuning my car (I only desire to flash/tune my car)?

Thanks!

Size of files is ECU dependent there is no "universal" file size...there can be also only 2k big files...

Hi,

With that partial reading sizes you will get enough for tunning, the best is to work with Ktag and make a full backup.
