16 bit tables in 8 bit Bosch ECU???

Postby Duckmang » Sat Mar 21, 2020 6:15 am

I'm working on a Bosch CIS Jetronic ECU, circa 1990. I've had a bit of success using an Ostrich 2.0 and TunerPro, and have 7 tables defined so far, and dozens yet undefined. One thing that jumps out at me as odd is that there are at least 5 tables that don't make much if any sense as 8 bit tables, but make nice looking tables as 16 bit data.

This is my 1st ECU I've ever hacked and was wondering if any of the more common 8 bit Bosch modules use 16 bit tables, and if anyone had any insight as to how they're used on those platforms. I know its a bit of a stretch but I found the map address locations in the CIS ECU from following a discussion about a similar vintage Motronic ECU. Maybe not that much of a stretch after all...

Any thoughts?
