I have a USDM 2004 Forester, which had a 2.5l engine, and I swapped in a JDM 2.0l. I used everything from the 2.5, including the ECU, crank and cam sensors, intake manifold, injectors, etc. etc. I'm wanting to find something that can alter the fuel maps (I think is the right wording?), because it is getting too much fuel. My STFT on bank one is between -25% and -30%, and you can definitely smell the richness of the A/F mixture. I might want to play with the timing and some other things too, but the fuel problem is a must, if it is even possible. I guess my question is, is this even possible on an 04 Forester X?
