EDC16C39 misflash - HELP

Postby Mrf » Fri Jul 01, 2016 9:27 pm

So using MPPS
Read the ECU ID and successfully downloaded the map from the ecu on both my Saab and my Dads Saab 9-3 (both 1.9 TID Z19DTH)
My dump wrote back to my car no problem
my dads threw a flash checksum error before it even started
went to try a read I'd done previously BUT selected the dump from my car by mistake, and hit write before I realised my mistake
And now the car doesn't start due a to VIN mismatch, dump from my dads car won't write due to the checksum error.
Really in need of help here, feeling rapidly out of my depth
I figure if I can correct the checksum that it should write back or if I can alter the VIN in the map that was flashed to the car that should resolve it. ??
Feeling rather panicked at the moment.
HELP!!

Hi..

You can write the original program via BDM.

You should probably read the software first and repair that file with the software you read in the first hand with mpps.

edc16c39 are tempermental at times. always listen out for the fuel pump to kick in once finished reading and writing. If it doesnt then before switching ignition off you need to write ori file onto ecu. DO NOT switch ignition off though.

Recovery is very easy on these ecu's though. Either BDM like others have suggested or you can use galletto if your lucky to force ori file on through obd but your not always lucky to do this.
