Ibiza Cupra TDI PD160 can´t increase the boost :(

Postby madmax93 » Fri Mar 13, 2015 10:20 am

Hello, after some trying on various tdi-maps i started to modify the Map of my own car, a seat ibiza Cupra with bpx engine. The map is nearly the same to a 150 HP arl TDI engine. Using edc-suite and winols, I modified only codeblock 2, because after testing some small modifications i noticed that my car is using this one. i did some changes to the Torque map, increasing the max values to 70mg, changed the values of the smoke map to 70 mg and 1200mbar. I changed all values of I.Q. by MAP and I.Q. by MAF to 70mg. i increased the SOI Limiter about 1.5° and changed axis data up to 70mg in all necessary maps such as torque map, smoke map, soi, duration.
looking on the Air maps, i canged axis data of the target boost map up to 7o mg and decided to try a max boost of 2700mbar ( 2550 orig.) i increased the atm Boost limiter to 2670 mbar max and set the SVBL to 2820 mbar. i modified the N75 map as shown in the edc15 arl 150 tutorial , but also tried it orig, and it made no diffrence , no boost spikes at all. The car is running well with this setup and takes less fuel, what i think is mainly because of the advanced timing with EOI at max 6° ATDC or less, but any how i cant get the boost up. :D i have a bluetooth obd interface and when i´m picking up the live-Data, using torque pro, it schows me 1.55 BAR of boost, such as before. the thing is that even with the increasing I.Q. of 70mg, and the orig. Boost of 1550mbar, the car does´nt smoke at all, at least not more then before the remap. So, is that possible? or do u guys think That anyhow my torque app is showing me some rubbish? once, I connected it to a Tuned asz ibiza, and it showed me clearly vlues up to 1.770 Bar of pressure.
(yes i know its too much for sthe small asz turbo, but its my brothers car, runs faster then my stock cupra tdi and have much better fuel economy, any how the milage of the car is about 250.000 km and the turbo didn´t break, so i woun`t change that. The software is orig MTM by the way, didn´t know they do such hard modifications. But that is another topic, sorry :D )

I think that some other map is limiting my boost, but even using WINOLS I could not figure out wich kind of map that could be. I did some research on the internet, but could not find usefull information for my problem.

the thig is, that in edc15p-suite the program shows me: Category: probable Maps; Subcategory: Turbo; Boostmap. i made a screenshot, but there is no axis data and the Values make no sence to me, but maybe this one is the map that make me such problems.
Hope I did not bore U guys with my essay, and hopefully u have some ideas. thx

Hi
I'm probably wrong but i think you need more fuel, maybe this would create more boost ? i am not an expert but it looks like you have allowed for enough boost in the maps but require more fuel to make boost ? hopefully more people will help to solve this puzzle.
Cheers

so you mean like my fuel air ratio is limiting my boost because of too small I.Q. ? hmm.. I increased the Value of I.Q. from 58mg to 70 mg what is about +40% .. a +40% increase of boost would mean a boost pressure of 2.1 Bar... I want to reach only 1.7 or max 1.75 Bar... I really dont know what the hell is limiting my boost pressure..
