2002 E46 320D modified! MAP Needed from experienced tuner

Postby deadvalentine » Sun Jul 13, 2014 9:20 pm

Hi there. Is there anybody who can tune my map file? I have a 2002 320D 150BHP with the EDC16 ECU. The car is not standard so here is a list of modifications.

Hybrid turbo GT1756
FMIC 600 x 400 x 100
High flow injector nozzles.
EGR Bypass and power induction pipe
Decat
DPF Removed
Swirl Flaps removed
Modified under piston oil cooling jets

I want a map with the DPF regeneration removed, EGR removed, also the swirl flap operation removed if possible and power to approx 250-260bhp, not sure about NM.

My hardware hasn't arrived yet but when it does I can post it up in a few days.

Anybody up for a challenge? :)

From this configuration you can expect not more (safety i mean) 210 ps and 425-430 Nm of torque.I Have done about three BMWs with same or very similar configuration and the first thing you should also upgrade is your clutch with ceramic if the car is manual. If the car is automatic there are required extra experience with Automatic gearboxes and limitation of torque at 400 Nm. Not more, not less !
Also you should find all Duration maps- there are more than one!!! Another extra experience is required for that.
Because of bigger FMIC and bigger turbo you should play a lot more with smoke map to prevent lag of the car. You have to be at the razor's edge of smoke map to prevent turbo lag and this not means 1:17 ratio !!!!
There are also quite other things you need to gain above 200 ps and 400 Nm.

Hi, That is why I am in need of an experienced tuner. The clutch is fairly new and is also the same clutch as the 330D of the same age, so it can handle the power. The dual mass flywheel needs changing but I have a new one already. Everything else is new (30k miles) new crankshaft, pistons, bearings, total engine rebuild.

Is there any chance you could look at the file and let me know some offsets? This is just for my information purposes. I am not confident in making changes myself.

Also are you familiar with MPPS? When I downloaded my cars MAP it stated that the checksum was calculated by the program. With other ECU models it states that the checksum has to be calculated before flashing. So this means I can flash and it will calculate the checksum as I flash?

Can anybody help? I have been making data logs with Testo and I have a turbo spike (Pic attached), which isn't good!! so i need to make some adjustments. I think I have found the EGR map and I need to disable it so my turbo vanes are open at lower RPM.

Can somebody help me please??

From this log i see that turbo vanes are not setup correctly (if you have done any software changes already), or it's just mechanically stuck. One thing you should not do at this time- YOU SHOULD NOT REMOVE YOUR CAT untill you solve this issue, because De-CAT will give you even more boost pike and your turbo will kill with oil your engine.

Than it's easy. First check all vacuum pipes of your turbo system, second check turbo actuator. If the actuator is not moving easylly about 1.5 sm than you have stucked turbo vanes and you need to unmout your turbo and disambled it for cleaning. That's it.

Yes i can. Adjust VNT map with 4% of 1850-2650 rpm and with 2.5% for the rest of the map. Than make new log to see if we kill the spike (sure we will, but just in case).

I have found the correct maps in WinOLS but i think my units and factors are incorrect. I have attached my OLS file from WinOLS. I have gear dependant torque limiters, and a main torque limiter, for which gear they are I do not know yet! This spike only occurs in 2nd gear, Maybe 1st too but I haven't made a log for them gears yet.

Can you take a look at it and see if my work is correct.

I have found SVBL, Main TL, Gear dependant TL, Drivers wish maps, NM/IQ Conversion, SOI for different driving styles, Smoke map, Turbo Map, & Boost limiter.

I still haven't found MAF linearisation, Rail pressure limit and there are more!

I have posted a request but nobody seems to be answering! :(
