Ford Mondeo 2004 Saloon 2.0 TDCi 96 kW Delphi MPC555

Something I drive since (ummm...) 14:00 pm GMT+1 :D

Still didn't mess with FRP, SOI and EGR maps...

Hope I didn't miss any of significant limiters...

...but the clutch will need replacement soon...

...too soon... :?

69242 is iq limiter by rail pressure.
you decide to limit your fuel with smoke map instead of torque limiter, why?
do you take some logs?
what is desired and gained iq?
and about boost, you should log because delphi is very strange and turbo knows to overboost like hell when change turbo maps.

Thank you for the reply :)

I just tried the second version. I corrected the limiter you mentioned, smoke map, lowered the whole TL (mostly around 1800-2500 rpm because of the clutch slip), and corrected N75 in the same area. I have already experienced overboost before wjhen everything except TL was original.

I will still have to work on N75, SOI and EGR - N75 fine tuning comes up last.

I have tried logging with VCM, but all I can find is desired IQ (wish map). Will look further, but I'm at work right now.

gained iq you can see with vcm trough injectors (mass)
and tq to tq map is calibration map and i think that dont need to be changed.

Here's some logging I just did (went for a cup of coffee while waiting for a business meeting  ):

Code: Select all
,"Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor [kPa]","Engine Revolutions Per Minute [RPM]",
564.077000,"109.000000","1277.000000",

711.905000,"228.000000","2940.000000",

715.264000,"107.000000","1874.000000",

No more overboost (logged while flooring), but I would like to have a little more boost between 3500 and 4000 rpm. Will take a look of N75. :)

Code: Select all
,"Mass Fuel Desired in Milligrams [mg]","Engine Revolutions Per Minute [RPM]",
884.936000,"55.264797","2031.000000",
885.764000,"57.632401","2374.000000",

887.452000,"69.781929","3071.000000",
888.296000,"69.781929","3367.000000",
889.139000,"48.785046","3341.000000",
889.968000,"26.728971","2454.000000",
69.781929 mg - that's exactly the DW map multiplied by TQ/TQ map. Will reset the TQ/TQ map back to original. But that's the desired IQ, not actual, as it is limited to max 55 mg. I guess logging IQ with ELM327 is not possible?

I see you are very familiar with Fords. I calculated injection duration in degrees, but have no idea what is the factor and offset for SOI maps:
Code: Select all
 96   -32   -32    24    24    0    0    0    0    0    0    64    88    96
 80   -32   -32    24    24   -48   -82   -105   -59   -40    16    60    88    96
 70   -32   -32    24    24   -48   -96   -128   -74   -40    16    60    88    96
 69   -32   -32    24    24   -48   -96   -96   -64   -24    16    60    80    96
 32   -1   -31   -37   -29   -64   -96   -48   -56   -24    16    60    88    104
 32   -26   -56   -62   -34   -64   -64   -48   -48   -24   -16    64    104    140
 16   -16   -48   -44   -50   -44   -68   -40   -32   -24   -16    82    136    164
 0   -16   -39   -45   -18   -40   -32   -24   -24   -18   -18    80    144    184
 0   -5   -8   -8   -7    0    0    16    32    32   -12    96    144    192
 0    8    8    32   -8   -24   -8    0    32    32    10    96    144    208
 0    8    8    32    0   -24   -8    0    32    32    64    96    144    232
 0    8    8    32    0   -24   -8    0    32    40    72    112    144    224

It can't start injection like 232 degrees BTDC (4200 rpm, 288+ Nm requested)?? or 128 degrees ATDC (2000 rpm, 48 Nm requested)?

My suggestion for the factor is 0.1, and the offset... ...would be unknown. :eh:

Injection duration is up to 17 degrees when cold (4200 rpm, 42,4 mg/str, 1200 bar - original) - could my calculations be right?

I also raised FRP, but forgot to take a look if actual pressure fits the FRP map. :(

That's great info! :)

Can I modify axes like at EDC15/16, or will I brick the ECU?

After weeks of work I'm still stuck with 69.781929 (?!??) mg/stroke. I guess I missed something.
