VNT15 PEAK overboost problem

Postby mmparts » Fri Nov 03, 2017 12:01 am

Hi fellows!
The engine is 1.9TDI ALH with stock injectors(220bar) and stock turbo - VNT15
I works fine, the file is ok I think - the fuel consumption is perfect for me (out of city - 4,5l/100km with av speed 120km/h, in city - 6-7l/100km) but the problem is there... the peak of boost is about 1,5-1,6bar and the hold boost is about 1-1,1bar... I'm worried about this peak boost, it looks too much for me and i think it can damage the turbo. I got a boost gauge and I watch the pressure at all the time(with those vnt turbos is good to have one gauge). When I step on the gas pedal on 2nd gear for example, it goest to 1,5-1,6 for about 2-3sec and then hold on 1,1 or 1bar... This is the file that car came with. I see that its modified, but there is no smokes, the engine works quiet and so so.. What do you think guys - does any of you had the same problem?
P.S. When I start the engine the first exhaust gas comes out are kind of blue(like becouse of oil but there is NO any comsumption of oil, checked the turbo axle(its fine), the injecotrs are fine) since i had the car, no matter if its cold or warm, if its first star for the day or just stopped the engine 5mins before.

Yes 1,5-1,6 peak specially under 2,2k rpm is bad. You should check if torque and VNT turbo maps are modified. Excesive injection at low revs or EGR closed may cause overboost. Issues from vacuum pipes or dirty VNT mechanism too (typical in 1.9 TDI).

I see no problems here, I think that is stock as is on Honda with that turbo.

Plus, if you have stuck internals, half a tank of diesel with Eolys 176 cleans the carbon out. (I think I had 30-40ccm on the first tank)
