timing

what is the best way to get better economy on like edc15 and 16..

increase boost on from say 0.2 to 0.4 when cruisning and is it possible to change start of inj to get more early ignition timing?.

or is there a other way to get better fuel economy?

actually some say it is better to decrease boost at cruising load (like up to 20 mg/str) as AFR is quite lean at low IQ, and you produce less exhaust backpressure when demanding less boost - speaking of variable geometry turbocharger. That causes less pumping losses.

SOI is quite retarded at emission clean engines, so there is less noise and harmful gasses produced, but it also causes worse efficiency. The best result in economy for PD engines is around 3-4 degrees more advanced according to stock setup, but I wouldn't know abouf CR engine - I am still trying. But it's hard to test consumption when there's always some idiot around trying to prove something with his BMW/audi/honda, and I've got to prove him wrong.

I can confirm that N75 vanes are playing a big role in fuel economy with driving light..because on full load we dont give a fuck about economy. Open those n75 from 0 to 20 25 mg to eliminate backpressure between engine and exhaust mannifold/turbo. I have vp44 rotary pump and with 2 to +4 degrees in middle load i can see better economy..but with the new power..~170 hp, i cant drive too economical..well economy it's a relative thing.

iv been following this thread and had some great results .
by lowering boost (target boost ) and adding 2 - 2.5 degs soi in the egr region .

if you want by just tuning the soi you can improve ur mpg .

alot of reading but really good info here http://www.ecuconnections.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16272

This is now what I am looking at, but don't want to touch SOI.
I've been trying to examine what is happening, as my display doesn't always fall back to 999mpg within a second or two when lifting off the accelerator. So I presume I have overboost, so I have opened up the vanes a bit and kept the turbo lower on 1000-1750 upto about 20 IQ. I am yet to test this, but from what I have read this should hopefully see a difference.
