Good day,
My name is Chris, I'm from Schleswig-Holstein / Germany.
I've been learning chiptuning for some time now.
Now I want to do the Smoke map but I unfortunately do not know how to vote it.
Where do I have to pay attention, which areas do you have to change how?

Hi,

First of all you need to understand what does smoke map do.
- It is limiting the smoking...
How?
-set the correct amount of I.Q for the desired airflow.

How to tune?
- You have to know how much boost you want or have.. (absolute 2300 Mbar)
- Needs to know engine ccm. for example PSA HDI 8v engine (1997 ccm) cylinder number: 4
- Calculate a ratio 1013/(1997/4)=2,029 (where 1013 is atmospheric pressure in mbar)
- Need to divide the turbo pressure with it. 2300/2.029=1133 mg/stroke (more or less it is the airflow maximum you'll have)
- You can calculate IQ 1133/17=66,6 mg of fuel needed to make more power. (where 17 is AFR, stoic number) (<16.0 much smoke; 17.0-17.5 not visible smoke; 18 factory set)

That's it...
So now you need to learn what is AFR how you calculating them, and which part of the map you need to modify to reach the good output. (Let's say not much modification needed to pulls better :D)

If you make some live data logs and see how the airflow raised and drops... :)

Nice explanation, thanks ;) I think it is more or less enough to edit last one or two rows with recalculated airflow and IQ. Correct ?

I advise you to first run with diagnostic equipment, and you'll see how your Airflow rising and droping during the rev range..
After that you know wheather how many columns you need to recalculate. :clap: :thumbup:

But I still have a few questions about the bill and because of the general tuning.

Unfortunately, I can not understand the bill, you say: 1013/1997/4 my result is 0.1268 what is my mistake?
At the next bill, my question is where is stroke for?
2300 / 2.029 = 1133 mg / stroke
Is that the volume of one cylinder? is it at her engine 499,2ccm or is the wrong understood?

And then I wanted to know, When I start to remap I start with driver request map, now I make the Smoke map then the torque limit and now the boost pressure and boost limit

Would it be such a real succession?

Wrong math. 1997/4 = 499.25 then 1013/499.25=2,029 ;)

Correct calculation is cylinder ccm * boost * air density * engine efficiency

Can someone tell me how to load an excel file high? I have taken my motor data today on the vcds ride and would like to show it here so we can look together and look at it and explain.
