I’m currently learning the same and it’s much easier on some ECUs than others. E.g. EDC15 maps are usually relatively easy to spot, EDC17 I wouldn’t even attempt without good quality damos.

If you can find a similar ECU binary with damos that can help to identify what some are.

I am new to the forum. I would really appreciate any help in identifying maps in wonols. I have found some by looking at the shape of 2D/3D. I have been using a file from 2004 VW Touareg 2.5 TDI PD. I have read about Damos files is the one available for this engine? Will this help me identify the maps from the hexdump?
Many thanks
Sam

Possibly, if you post the ECU hardware / software number someone may be able to help, damos are a great way to learn if available.
