Edc17c46 stuck in boot mode?!

Postby Trondrye » Sat Mar 16, 2019 10:20 pm

Hi mates!

I was going to do a dpf off on a vw caddy 2012mod 2.0tdi edc17c46
I’m using a clone ktag to do a full backup in bootmode plugin 199. Then write the modified file. And the car did not start. No communication with the ecu. Then i tryed to write back the bacup of original file, it was success, but car did not start. Still no communication with the ecu.
I suspect it is stuck in boot mode.
Any ideas would be helpful

Thanks
Trond

if you suspect that its stuck in boot...try reading without connecting boot pin...if it doesnt read then its not stuck in boot

Thank you for the tip, I have found out that it is not stuck in boot. I can not read without the boot pin connected.
anyone know if it is possible to make it work with a second hand ecu from a donor car?
I have cloned a lot of EDC16 ecu`s, and that is easy. but I know the EDC17 is a problem with the OTP area.
Any experience with cloning ore Immo off solution on EDC17?

Mind telling how did you manage it? Was the 2n hand ECU matching both in SW and HW?
