Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the research state that increasing the precentage of pre-injection for a quiet diesel operation is necessary? EDC has tools for that. Not sure about the pre-injection timing, but most certainly the amount of fuel in pre-injection has a major effect on the way the peak pressure sounds. (also the programmed fuel pressure profile as well... experiment with that one as well? (global max. pressure table, etc.))

Oh, Milaaaan!
Did you forget that the EDC has a separate TQ limiter table for EACH of the gears separately?

No no i know that fact :D but conditions in deceleration/ acceleration in not loaded engine on neutral and loaded engine at 1.,2.,3... gear are different. Engine accelerate and decelerate slowly so effect is not very big. Thats my opinion. Maybe popcorn can be done effective at shifted gears but it wasnt neccesary for me. Important for my customer was only not loaded engine popcorn

Can you explain how you did that with SVRL? I have no idea how to do that.

Reducing SVRL value is one of the common method in my case it was 5300RPM and was reduced to 4900RPM it can be even lower but it will affect max RPM while normal driving, probably it can sound better with 4700RPM.

for upper rpm range it doesnt give exact noise which we want, i do generally 4700 or 4800 rpm on edc16c39
