About Throttle response on EDC16

Postby lsdlsd88 » Sat Nov 01, 2014 5:34 pm

Hi, I have a Fiat Doblo 1.6 MJT, with EDC16C39, and wanted to understand something about how ECU works (or how it does not satisfy me!).

In particular, does anyone have a clue on how pedal input are "smoothed" by ecu? I am getting a very slow throttle response.. I see in diagnostic log that lag between WOT and reaching of corresponding required IQ is about 2-2.5 seconds, that is A LOT to me.

Is this done for fuel economy or emission limiting? is there in the map some "smoothing factor" that can be tuned?

I will post logs or graphics if necessary ;)

Thanks in advance!

Turbo needs time to spool and to increase MAF.
Besides, the IQ is limited by Lambda map.

So I guess altering the smoke limiter (even a lot, just for testing..) should get me the requested IQ shortly after pedal input? How much this "short" time could be in your opinion?

Thanks for replying ;)
