Turbo spikes

Postby rapzak » Fri Mar 15, 2013 10:29 pm

Hi,

I have this 1.6TDCI, changed turbo twice, and with the last also DPF.
I still suffer from what i think it often regeneration.. like 100-200km distances.
So i have been logging a lot of parameters to see if i could find something.
For my guess it seems like the pressure in the DPF is not getting high, max 10kPa, and i think it could be higher before regen??
So i try track down the issue, since i think the pressure is not high, i think it is not filled up when it starte regen, and therefore some other parameters doing it?

I am right now running with en EGR blanking plate and no ECU EGR off, so i have a DTC.
But it seemed to be issue before also.

Could you clever guys please look at my graphs to see if something i abnormal?
I think litle about the +2bar spikes on the intakte pressure?
What about the engine temperature?
else?

The VGTDC, i am not sure if the level is correct, due to i am not sure about the conversion from hex to decimal :(

I have more data if needed.

Thank you
Kasper

It looks like you drive it under 2000rpm most of the time! Also a lot of urban driving? Thats always going to fill up the DPF pretty quickly. Try letting the engine rev a little more and put less load on it at low revs.

Hi,
Normal roads here are 80km/h so that will be below 2000rpm if i recal right.
not so much city driving, and i try to avoid short trips and uses my gasoline car for that.
But still quite much trips of 15-20km or less and to my work 30lm each way...
Of cause it is worse in the winter time where the engine is long to warm up...

I made this site:

You should adjust VNT because you use EGR blanking plate. Some more lenght to VNT vacuum system.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer, do you have some targets to hit?
Why does EGR blanking plate change the turbo behaviour?
