SOI maps (0-9) EDC15p+

Postby rowly747 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 4:54 pm

Hello,

I'm just wondering whether the SOI maps go in order of coldest to hottest for instance -25 = SOI 0 and 90 = SOI 9?

Also what is the factor that is applied becasue all i've got at the moment is hex converted into decimal

Cheers

Thank you ecuedit. Much appreciated.

Could you help me further, do you know how to convert the decimal numbers i have into degrees?

You have to set up factor and the offset to get degrees.

Factor is -0,023438 (almost the same as in EDC15C2 ecu, there is one more thing for you to figure it out - offset.

I think the hint is more than good ;) it will be very easy.

The axis is well above the maps. In EDC15 you have markers and after marker you have number of cols... look for the axis that has 16 and 14 cols... hint again... ;)

Thanks ECUEDIT top guy.

I've read lots of forums etc but still wondering how you work out the SOI for a minor tune. Do you calculate it from the duration map? A simple explanation would be great.

Also if you wouldn't mind explaining how it should be setup i.e TDC is the ideal EOI, CORRECT? Advancing the SOI maps too much will cause negative torque as the EOI will be before TDC, but also if its retarded too much you get increased EGT temps and lose power CORRECT?

Thank you.
