1,9TDI ASV bad injectors ?

Postby boRaTDI » Mon Jan 09, 2017 8:26 pm

hi guys,
i bought a seat leon with the ASV engine.
but the car seem to have a problem.
when it reaches 90C temp, it is jerking on idle (on 900rpm).
i have been at some services and nobody knows what the problem is.
diagnostics also has been done, but theres only the dead oil level sensor, which has nothing to do with the jerking.

i hope somebody has an idea to my problem.

it is as follows:
when you start the car, sometimes it starts little bit harder and have lot of white smoke, but only when its >-5C temp outside.
the car starts, runns very fine, and pulls great. but when it reach 90C temp, its jerking on idle.
when you drive it, everything is fine, the problem is only when you stay on idle.

what i can say:
the temp stays at 90C but the 2 coolers are not running, that very funny, i thought they have to cool the engine from overheating.
we checked the vp37 adjustment, the pump is behaving very funny.

for example: sometimes it happens that the car runs fine on idle, NO jerking.
but when it starts to jerk, we checked the vp37 in vcds, the angle is going up and down like crazy. in one second over the max limit, in the next second under the min limit....very strange.

the last service station told me that i have to change the vp37 pump, because they think the problem is there, but i cant believe because the pump was changed 2 years ago. maybe the injectors are damaged ?

if you guys need logs from some groups, i can make logs.

when 90C are not reached, the engine makes NO PROBLEMS, so ONLY ON 90C it beginns to jerk.

what you guys suggest to me ?

agr is already deactivated by software.
and jerking is with ori and with tune software also.
currently i am driving the ori file, till the problem is solved.

thanks and regards :D

You allready have the anwser my friend! If the pump is going crazy than thats your problem. It must be pcb lf resistor problem. When metal is heating it expands and i think this is your problem.

thanks very much for the fast answer !
this does not sound good, i know what this pump looks like from outside, but never opened it to see the parts in there.
is this metal heating a common problem of the vp37 pump ?

you think is it repairable or do i have to buy a new pump ?
because new pumps about 400€
for this old car 400€ is too much to invest..

thanks and regards

Check the fuel temp sensor if it´s reading the fuel temp as it should..

Is it possible that the dual mass flywheel is making this problems ?

Because today i did not have any problems, but i realized when i have full throttle in 3 gear, between 1700-2000rpm i can feel a big vibration from the engine, it sounds like "hrrrrrrrrrr"

And i realized the jerking is also there in lower temps, for example on 60 or 75C. It very very light and you really have to concentrate to feel and hear it, but in lower temps only for 1 or 2 secs and then everything is fine.
But on 90C its very brutal shudder and jerking.

But like i said before, there are some driving sessions when everything works fine...

Can a bad dual mass flywheel cause this ?

Thanks for the help guys. :)

is it possible that the turbo makes this problem ?

i realized when i drive the car "soft" without pressing full throttle, the car runs well.

and after i realized that, yesterday i logged the car with a friend, the actual turbo pressure goes up to 2500mbar, although it is set in the file to be max. 2100mbar.
and about 3000rpm the car loses power, i think its boost spike.
but 2500mbar is 400mbar more than it should be  maybe turbo is about to die ?

regards

update:

it was the dual mass flywheel making this jerking.
the funny thing is that the injected fuel amount (mg/str) also was playing crazy, but now everything runs smooth.

just for info if it helps anybody.
