Can anyone tell the beginner what BSI means?

BSI = Boitier de Servitude Intelligent
= Built-in Systems Interface

It is the gateway of all CAN-based controller module present in the car and make them communicate each over.

I think it is specific for PSA cars - Peugeot & Citroën -

Renault have it also but name is UCH - Unité de Contrôle Habitacle

More info here https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo%C3%AEt ... ntelligent

- sorry it is in french

Hope that helps.

BSI is used for PSA (peugeot, citroen) product as "boitier servitude interieur" translated it's become "Interior Control Unit" .
this is more communaly call "BCM" for "Body Control Module".

but it could be something else if it's not in french car manufacturer context ....

I in BSI is for interior as PSA have also BSM for "moteur" (engine) in charge of engine accessory like cooling fan or heater that are shared between engine and other controle unit (AC, auto gear box ).
